3 months agoHad a great experience at Tommy’s. My car was extra dirty after a road trip with lots of dirt roads. There was a bit of dirt left after the wash but Javen had me run through again and even got me signed up for a membership promotion they were running. Thanks for the great service!3 years agoHighly recommend! From start to finish, this is a fun and fast experience with great quality. Even though there was a line, we were in and out quickly and even stopped to use the free vacuums. our truck is looking fantastic for a reasonable price. I’m beginning to think that all the folks around here are like that. The dude at the window took the time to explain the whole process and the options to me since I was a newbie and I really appreciated that! It’s pretty cool how it drives your car through without crashing into the one ahead of you LOLWith that being said, I took my baby Prince through this car wash yesterday and it came out with dried on yellow spots all over it. The dude that came out a couple vehicles behind me did NOT have that problem so I don’t know what happened. He also had a black vehicle so they would’ve been obvious and he thoroughly checked after seeing my mess. I spent an hour carefully scrubbing off the spots I could reach and they came off with a bit of elbow grease. After that my baby was gorgeous again and super shiny. I managed to take a pic of the spots I was too short to reach but look at the shine on my Prince!! I did appreciate the free vacuums for sure. Not sure if it makes any difference but I got the $20 package—can’t remember what the dude called it. I noticed they had a separate line for app users which was cool. I believe you can pay for a subscription kinda deal here.
I am just really unsure about this place to be honest. If I had time to scrub spots off again I’d probably give it another shot if I’m back in the area. It could have been a fluke. Who knows?!
5 months agoThey have started to slack off on the chemicals used to make their upgraded washes better. I had the top tier membership (best wash) and noticed that after the wash my paint, although clean to the eye, when you run your fingers over it is very dry and clingy. This is from lack of wax in the wash. If you had a microfiber towel, you would actually feel it tug at the fibers. For those that care to, run down to the zips on W Sunset and get their top wash. You will definitely see the rainbow now missing at Tommy’s and after the wash when your car is dry, run your fingers over your paint, it is soft and smooth. That’s from the spray on waxes and protectants they put in their upper end washes. We went to Iowa last year and there was an older Tommy’s wash there, same thing. No rainbow, dry clingy paint. Once they get their membership up to a certain point, they start reeling back on those chemicals because they are expensive and if the people aren’t paying attention and don’t say anything then why not?So if you wash here just go with the basic or +1 wash because you’re not getting what makes their advanced washes better than the entry level washes. You’re just paying more for the entry level wash.

5 months agoEnjoyed detailing my truck there. Also had a city raccoon give me the stare down while I was there. They are huge and not scared of people. The shining star of this place is the man who runs it. He’s always on the ball. Very kind and helpful. He will get your machine going or get you moved without question. He’s always great when i have an issues, i just wish there weren’t SO many damn issues6 months agoI urge everyone to think twice before spending a cent at this “car wash ” If your sight wasn’t obstructed by a wooden fence, you would be appalled by the amount of garbage that portside carwash allows to poison our local ecosystem. I have personally witnessed animals in distress from the plastics that they’re forced to coexist with. There are signs warning patrons to not go beyond a certain point and that is due to the fact they are undoubtedly to lazy to do anything about the ecological disaster that they have created and allowed to exist. They should be ashamed to allow such a toxic cesspool to exist. They do nothing to prevent the slow and inevitable growth of filth and gradual trickle of waste to make it’s way into our waterways. As long as the “human ” who owns and keeps watch of this property/ business makes a quick dime, they will continue to allow this disgraceful attack to only get worse .Please don’t give this terrible place a second glance.
9 months agoNice place seems to have done a awesome job. Didn’t like that it wouldn’t accept my cash for the auto wash. So I had to use my card. But my car looks very clean now. Vac worked well. Definitely will go back. But not sure how to get a code
