I drive across the border everyday for work. It’s a daily grind on my car and I’m full of gratitude that it gets me where I need to go so I, honestly, pull up at the car wash every single day. Because I strive to keep my car nice and clean, I decided to become a member when it was called Wash-N-Go when they would give you the nicely folded, blue microfiber clothes along with an air freshener. With it now being Luv Car Wash, I have taken notice that you all are striving to continuously improve so that folks will “luv” their experience. Firstly, if it’s within your budget, having a membership is key because it is so much easier to just drive through without the hassle of having to make the payment at the machine and it saves time. I have been to all of the Luv Car Washes in San Diego and I must say the one on Balboa is top tier compared to the others. Their hard working staff is ALWAYS friendly and kind to me. When time permits, they pre-rinse my car; the car washing process within itself at this location is so much nicer because it is bigger. The spaces to wipe and vacuum your car are spacious as well. They’ve also added window cleaner and the air blower, which is a cool bonus too. As the air fresheners say, “Luv is in the air” and I feel that each day I go there for my car cleaning needs. I’m appreciative. Thank you.

Change of ownership. LUV replaced Wash N Go car wash and recently re-opened after couple of weeks of remodeling. I’ve tried their membership service for a month and this is my feedback.

Pro: More use of soap for better wash, maybe too much. Should consolidate some. Better suction on each vacuum probably from better compressor installed. Customer service has improved a bit.

Cons: Price has DOUBLED. They are pushing hard for customers to sign up for a membership without explaining much. Not very transparent. Fortunately, canceling a membership was one call away so it was easy. One last wash ripped my BMW emblem away: see photo. But this kind of damage can happen at any machine car wash places, it’s a risk you have to keep in mind when washing your car at machine operated car wash.

Conclusion: These machine car wash places are popping up everywhere and although they are easy and convenient, HAND WASHING is the best. 1.7/5 ⭐️

I just finished washing my car but my rubber was damaged and water got inside. When I asked the staff, they said they were not responsible. The reason is that the rubber damage has nothing to do with the car wash. Also, your company said they are not responsible for the old rubber and moldings, but my car is only a year old. And it’s not just rubber damage, it’s water getting into the car. Don’t do business like that. Employees respond to customers with facial expressions and tone that are not my business. My family is luv member pay at least 100 per month congratulations i will cancel today because you broke my car. I have to go fix my broken car . I don’t want to break my car again This is what you did guys! thank you so much!

first picture is rubber damage second picture is normal rubber

This is the best car wash hands down! I’ve tried some of their competitors because they were closer to home but they didn’t compare. This wash gets everything off my car, others I still had to scrub after. These vacuums also have great power they pick everything up. There is always plenty of clean cleaning cloths and window cleaner. Everyone here is super friendly. The manager Niko was very helpful with fixing my account. He handled it right away and with professionalism and kindness. I will keep coming here even if it’s a 20 minute drive from my house because it’s worth it.

DO NOT GO to this car wash if you value your paint job! I went here the other day and purchased their $22 premium wash and unfortunately did not notice the damage done to my roof and top of my trunk until later on! It seems like their top cleaning wiper roll isn’t properly calibrated. Very irritating considering I just bought this car brand new last month.

A rusty pipe above my assigned parking spot dripped rusty water onto my car hood , and I was unable to get it off myself nor at other car washes. Uptown Car Wash to the rescue with great service at a reasonable price! They were able to get it all off, and there’s no sign of residue ever being there. Everyone was very friendly to me and my dog, and I’ll definitely be coming back for future services. Thank you!

I took my dirty vehicle in for a car wash after the last heavy rain storm, and it came out completely scratched on all surfaces where they used their sponges. (The car wash is a hybrid of hand-wash for about 3/4 of the vehicle that the workers can reach, and then you sit in the vehicle while it goes through the traditional wash.) Jorge the person in-charge that day immediately put up a defense and said there’s nothing he could do to help, and insisted I needed to prove to him the scratches weren’t there before I arrived. When asked for a more appropriate solution to correct the damage they caused, he told me my car was very dirty when it arrived. He was correct, and that’s the reason I brought it there that day — to wash it and not to destroy the clear-coat. Every surface where the workers used a washing sponge, the paint was heavily scratched through the clear coat. In the areas where they did not use the washing sponges, there were no scratches. Alan the manager followed-up with a call a few days later trying to explain how scratches exist from the factory, and was citing articles about proper paint care for your vehicle. When I quickly realized he was placing blame on me for bringing my dirty vehicle to him to clean properly, I asked him to cut to the chase and let me know if he’d repair the damage or not. He said no. I think they somehow were under the impression I was trying to get a free detail out of them. That wasn’t the issue at all. I simply wanted them to address the damage they caused. Don’t make the same mistake I made. I stopped going here 5 years ago due to the same horrible customer service and lack of attention to detail, and upon trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, it definitely back-fired on me. Nothing has changed, and their customer service is still awful. I looked at the other vehicles they were tending to, and every other car there that day had the same deep scratches post-wash. The car washers must have had dirt or rocks in their sponges, and instead of trying to correct their error, the management doubled down and insulted their customer. This car wash is only still in business because it’s convenient to access and it’s supported by people who don’t mind their vehicle’s paint jobs being destroyed. If you care about your car, please go somewhere else and stop supporting this subpar group of unprofessional individuals.

**Edit as a follow-up to car wash’s reply. It’s exactly the answer I expected to get. They try to paint the customer as the source of the problem. They’re also lying about the “extreme amount of bird dropping & tree sap.” This is untrue, & the car did not arrive with those conditions present. In fact, they confirm that they caused the damage by saying their “Team uses small circular movements with washing.” The photos show these patterns, along with the giant hood scratch they caused. They continue to deflect blame from them and push it toward the customer, whom they assume is uninformed. I wish they understood how to handle customer complaints better. I am not the type of person to try to convince a car wash that they damaged my car during its visit there. But I do feel others should know the danger they put themselves in by going to Uptown Car Wash. I’m getting the damage fixed tomorrow by a highly rated mobile detailer, and I am happily paying for it, knowing it will be done right. Uptown Car Wash had the chance to be fair, but decided lying in the reply and deflecting blame was a more noble and effective route. To try to make themselves look less embarrassing, they noted that they refunded the $29.98 for the car wash. It wasn’t offered until I asked for it that day. Look at each of their 1- or 2-star review replies and you’ll see the same. Nothing is ever their fault. Support local mobile detailers, or try one of the many drive-throughs in town. Shame on mgmt. for taking money out of their employees’ pockets by chasing customers away with their appalling customer service skills. Uptown Car Wash has no place running a shoddy operation in our wonderful neighborhood.

Amazing and reliable service. I brought both my cars here this week to get them fully detailed and waxed. Jose did the Hyundai sonata today and the car looks better than when we got it at the dealership! Highly recommend.

Love what Uptown Car Wash did for my truck! Got a full detail and my 10 year old truck looks new again. Headlights had this foggy sun damage that I could not wash off. They have some special sauce and were able to remove it and make them like new. Thanks guys!

The automated car wash is about as good as the one at Costco (but DO fold in your side mirrors!), albeit a lot provider at $20 and up. The saving grace is that there are plenty of cleaning stations, supplied with clean towels and vacuum hoses, so you can polish and clean your car after the wash.

I love this car wash so much I go every weekend. Dominick was a big help if that’s his name I couldn’t really remember lol.

Waited in line for a long time. The card reading machines clearly don’t work as cars had to keep reversing and asking for employee help to process their payments. Once I finally got the wash, my car was still dirty! And there were no clean towels in sight. The return towel bins were overflowing and even strewn on the floor. For a more quality wash, I would recommend another location

Came to get my car washed due to the absolute FILTH that had accumulated the past few months. The staff were helpful and friendly and I love that they have so many vacuums to use after your car is washed. 10000% will come again, thank you soapy Joes!

I bought my membership a few weeks ago, and have come to the Carwash at least four times. Since I’ve signed up, there has been an issue with getting through the gate automatically. Either my scan tag isn’t logged into the system correctly, or the scanner isn’t working correctly. The gentleman at the gate always lets me through, but has suggested I go into the office to correct the issue. There should not be an issue to fix. At least one of the four times they went in to get clearance to open the gate for me, the scanning issue should have been fixed too.
Love the “convenience” wish it worked as planned.
