Worst experience!. I called ahead to see if this location had the specific/oil and filter for my diesel Mercedes – I also asked about getting one of my tires fixed, because it had a slow leak. I was told both requests could be completed if I came to this location. When I arrived I was told that the tire leak could not be repaired because the “tire machine was broken, not working today”. I continued with the oil change. They pulled me into the stall and starting working on the car – after 40 minutes, I asked what was taking so long? I realized that they were using an extractor to remove the oil. Three guys doing it, talking a lot, arguing and clearly having trouble? I asked why an extractor was being used? I was told it was because it was “better” and my “car model had a skid plate restricting access to the drain plug” – Not true, because I have changed it myself this way before with ease. I also looked it up immediately on the Mercedes website, it mentioned that if the oil extractor operator was not very skilled, up to a quart or a quart and a half can be left in the engine, also sludge can remain in the engine. After watching and observing the 3 employees struggling for 45 minutes I came to the assumption that these are not skilled operators. I requested that the drain plug be used to empty the engine oil, they argued with me for a few minutes, then finally agreed and did this. During this whole process, one of the employees kept putting the dipstick back in the engine and checking it – at least 20 times, each time spilling drips of oil everywhere on the engine, the hoses, the side of the car. At one point, this same employee dropped a screwdriver into the engine and had to retrieve it. Oily rag, oil covered gloves all over everything, oil all over the floor beside the car as they were filling up my vehicle. I exited the vehicle at this point and viewed the complete mess he had made. Un professional, poorly trained and should not be allowed near customers vehicles ever. - Reviews:Poor Poor service! I went to see if I could get my 2 front tires patched as the both were leaking air. The front left side they said that they couldn’t do anything about it unless i buy a new tire from them. The front right side was driven on a flat so it apparently had been too damaged to repair. I left thinking both tires were just pumped up again with air to get me back home. They even told me themselves that they did not do anything to my car, which that is untrue…the next day i go outside and notice that the front right side’s tire was not there and my spare was put on. I looked to see if they maybe put the tire in the back, but nothing to be found. We had to spend time today to go back there and ask for our tire back. They then returned it back to us with no tire on the rim. they proceeded to tell us that it was too damaged to be repaired and that they have destroyed my tire. They not once consulted me about that and just went ahead and destroyed my property without consulting me about it. I would have liked to be able to at least see for myself how damaged it was and just the fact that they went ahead and made the decision to do that without letting me know is absolutely unacceptable. I never received any apology and happy i noticed that my rim wasn’t in my car today or else it might have been thrown away by them! I will never be back to Kal Tire again. The team at this Kal Tire is patient, kind, and very helpful. Lots of flexible booking. They are friendly to my dog. I had my breaks replaced and when I noticed a strange noise, they quickly RE replaced my breaks with higher quality parts. Manager never came out to see the car nothing when he was told about the problem . The first one you couldn’t even move the steering wheel. When we were turning corners the steering wheel would not come back into place normally like it should, and pulling severely to the right. We looked at the car and moved the steering wheel back and forth parked. The front wheels were making crunching noise. 2nd time steering was better, but the car was all over the road. 3d time still not the best. Never once did the Manger Larry come to check in nothing. Plus no test drive from the technician to make sure it was done right. Left him a message to call never did. He was there but just didn’t care. The only person we felt did care was Ryan at the front desk. So thank you Ryan for caring about your customers!!!! THE WORST RETURN POLICY. I had to return a defective product I bought 9 days ago, and their exchange policy was 3 days. On top of that, the manager acknowledged that sometimes they sell defective items & you (the client) are supposed to check them right away. Bad luck if you don’t check them out. And it’s mostly with high ticket items. Buy a portable AC, and you won’t be able to return it. How’s that you don’t have the right to try a $700 product? Same with tire chains, a $175 item, and other expensive items that are supposed to be 100% satisfaction guaranteed. And to make it harder, they ask for all your private personal information. The only thing they didn’t ask for was my SIN number. This is a multi-million-dollar company and is out to get you and screw you over.
This Candian Tire goes the distance when it comes to respectful employees and they’re patience. I’ve always had positive experiences when shopping there or anything they offer as a service. The return policies are a bit at times stiff but it’s understandable as they most likely have alot of haberdashery attempted. I recommend this establishment for your basic and even intricate household needs or automobile desires.
Excellent service! Had a tire pop late one night called this canadian tire the next morning and although they could not take me that day they booked me in for the following day making it as fast as possible and when I arrived they were extreamly welcoming. They had quoted me a higher amount for a tire and then were able to get a sale price for that tire instead unasked for which they did not have to do but the fact they did was amazing! Would definitely go back! Highly reccomend
I absolutely Love the prices and choices at Canadian Tire and do shop there often. Tonight I went in with my partner, we both had things we needed so parted ways, and I was followed by your secret shopper the Entire time I was there. She wasn’t even Trying to be inconspicuous, I could tell after seeing her the 2nd time within 5 minutes apart that she was following and watching me the whole time. I do Not appreciate having an employee stalk me while I’m about to drop over $200. I ran into her about 6x Minimum within the half hour I was there. This is unacceptable and will prevent me from returning to this location anytime soon.
Took my dodge caravan in to canadian tire auto because it was slightly drifting to the left. I was told it needed a wheel they completed at a cost of $130. Picked it up and noticed nothing changed, still drifting to left and now steering wheel is off center. Took it back and was told it needed front calipers. So they installed front calipers at a cost of $590. I was thinking they must have realized they made a mistake the first visit and would compensate me the $130 since it wasn’t fixed at that time but no they said it was done and done and I was the one who took the extra wasted cost of first visit, no sympathy or apology just pay the extra and get the ## out. Total cost for their missed diagnosis and another guess…$720…WOW…still drifts to the left. They need a head mechanic there to properly diagnose a vehicle instead of letting the apprentice do it. Not recommended, your not saving here with bad workers. Total rip-off. Sad
