I was mailed a coupon for southern oregon auto care so I decided with it being the same amount I might as well get a bit of a discount.
I took it in telling them it was the starter and they ran a check and told me indeed it was and needed to be replaced however th y told me it went from $460 to almost $900 which included $50 to tell me it was the starter, I asked why it more than double and didnt really get a good answer but I asked that they wait before doing anything amd called the other mechanic and told them it was verified the starter was needing to be replaced and was it still going to be $467 and they said absolutely. I took it to Medford Autocare and it was fixed for $467 as agreed with the quote.
I was so mad, disappointed that I had to pay for the $50 after the being quoted and th y were not following through with what they said

Before going to Traftons, I brought my 2015 Audi A5 Coupe Quattro into the dealer in the general Portland area for a major 35k mile service. They were booked out for almost 3 weeks and told me they wouldn’t be able to get to it right away as a result. A friend of mine referred me to Trafton’s. I wanted to seek a VW shop before I took it straight to the dealers because I traditionally never have good experiences. When I brought it in, they diagnosed the issue that it was a bent cylinder head and the mechanic I was speaking with was very honest and said there wasn’t any code showing that I over revved and advised me to take it to the dealers because it should still be under warranty for a free replacement. I went and did that and his honesty saved me a couple thousands on a new engine and turbo. They charged me for diagnosis and inspection and let me on my way. They did my timing chains on my vr6, my car feels and drives 8 years younger than before. Price was less than any other quote I got from the shop I usually go too, they had it in and out in less than a week, engine bay is spotless, free car wash before they handed me the keys, I couldn’t be happier
Excellent excellent excellent! I own a 1988 Volkswagen cabriolet convertible… there isn’t a service that I’ve had done that didn’t far exceed my expectations! The gambit of work that I have had done ranges from water pump… fuel distribution issues… suspension issues… Electrical.There isn’t a part of my car that they haven’t gone over with a fine tooth comb. When I have an issue I call them, they give me an appointment time . As soon as they do a run through on my car… they give me a call on the dollar amount for parts and service.

I own a Mini and live in Bend. The car ended up blowing a backup fuse in the junction box causing it not to start. Bought my car 3 hours to Steves Imports, and I will say this if you are on the fence about going here…just do it! They had to wait on the part and the day it came in John did everything to run around and get me my car ASAP! Overall very satisfied with Steves Imports will gladly drive from Bend if I need repairs again!

I could tell immediately that this place had a good vibe by how friendly and upbeat they were on the phone making the initial appointment. When I had to cancel and reschedule, they were flexible and understanding.
After the initial diagnosis, they helped me prioritize the work that needed to be done now vs. what could wait until my budget allowed. They gave me options and recommendations and answered all my questions.
They were fair, competent, and pleasant to work with. They even went above and beyond, clearing an unrelated code on my computer and returning my car washed (and cleaner than when I brought it in!) Would 100% recommend them to a friend and will be back myself as needed.
We brought in my daughter’s 2011 Subaru Legacy for diagnostics of a very rough idle.
