They treated me good. They gave me a loaner while my car was getting fixed. They also gave me a loaner, so I could get to work and back home. They care about there customers. I’m very satisfied with there work on my car. Also they were understanding and worked with me on paying for my car to get fixed. That’s good business.
Sincerely, M. Plumage
By Thomas Plume (2 weeks ago)I came in for a recall on my Nissan kicks. The staff was really friendly and the issue was taken care of around 3 hours, which is great. The only complaint I have is that the progress bar on the site (the one displaying the six steps of your cars maintenance) wasn’t updated when my car was being looked at, so I didn’t know where my car was in the process. It’s a neat feature to have on a website but it wasn’t updated until my car was done. That isn’t a crazy big deal though as most dealerships I’ve seen don’t even offer that.By Amber West (5 months ago)It’s a cool environment, all the staff has always displayed good customer service. Have always fixed the problems and diagnosed my vehicles properly. I’ve had to do work on my vehicle many times, everything under warranty they honor aw well in my experience. In my experience I have been involuntarily told I have parts to be fixed under warranty. You’ll pay the price but for high accuracy. Overall I’ve had a good experience when needing anything for my vehicles.By Dre Rose (4 months ago)I arrived early and they were able to perform the services within 10 minutes of arrival. I was told it would be about a 45 min wait and that was 100% accurate. I was greeted with a smile and was not pressured to get anything else than what I requested. Lobby was very clean and they even had free coffee and snacks.By Lindsay Walton (5 months ago)I had a very frustrating experience. I brought in my vehicle for a routine oil change and tire rotation. I scheduled the appointment days in advance and upon my arrival they told me they didn’t have the oil my vehicle needed in stock and they would have to get it. After the oil change service was complete, the service needed indicator was not reset my vehicle and I was told that they tried but it was “too difficult”. After a number of technicians reset the service indicator on my vehicle I began my trip back to Aberdeen,
and my tire sensors came on. I returned to the service department and explain to them what had happened and they were completely dismissive and stated “I could get air in my tire anywhere”. The shop lead came in and informed me that one of the technicians let the air out of my tires and didn’t read the proper PSI settings which caused the tire indicators to go off. After 3 1/2 hours, and one return trip, I don’t feel like I was provided the professional service I paid for.Update: my vehicle is now leaking oil! When I called I was told to take it elsewhere. I’m not really sure how a simple oil change has turned into such a nightmare! This vehicle had almost 6k miles on it when I bought it and I’ve had it for 5 months – thanks to your service, it now leaks oil!

We can’t say enough good things about the quality people and the top notch service we received from Rod’s Japanese Auto Care. 5 stars / A+++ / Highly recommended!
In order to fully appreciate this rating, it is important to share some backstory. Our vehicle is unique to say the least. It’s an imported Japanese RV – with a few systems converted to US standards, and others still in the original state. Parts have proven to be a nightmare challenge. This is where Sean, Zach, and the entire service team at Rod’s really shined. Through much trial and error, and countless examples of creative, outside-the-box problem solving, we managed to upgrade our wheels and tires to US supported sizes.
Communication and follow-up were critical during the project, and there was a great deal of back and forth between us and the staff. Each obstacle was met and handled, and it soon became clear that all involved cared about our situation in a very personal way. One critically important point to make is that safety was at the forefront of every decision – which included researching and ordering the correct parts, suggesting custom parts/fixes, and the labor to get it done. Overall, we were impressed by the professional and reliable service we received.
I know this is long review but I feel there is much to talk about, especially when we had to leave our beloved “Lasercat” in the shop for several months. We are confident in recommending Rod’s Japanese Auto Care to anyone, for jobs large or small. You won’t regret it!

July 2022By jon dillon (9 months ago)I have used Rod’s for both routine maintenance and bigger jobs like my head gasket. Each and every time they are professional, knowledgeable, and their service is top notch. I never have to wait weeks to get my car serviced and they take their time to thoroughly explain what services are needed now and what should be done in the future. As someone who doesn’t know cars that well, I appreciate their full diagnostics report that includes pictures. I have always been satisfied with their customer service and work. They even went out of their way to contact another service provider I had previously recieved services from and I was able to bring my car in and they fixed the issue at no cost. Bonus – they have a loaner car and have always allowed to me use it so my work day isn’t interrupted. Go to Rod’s for quality customer service and work!By Andrea Harrison (7 months ago)Do not use Rod’s for Hybrid repair! Initial quote was $1,700 to $2000 and 2 days to rejuvenate my Lexus GS 450 hybrid battery. They also indicated they could replace the cells if needed. 7 Days later and a quote for $4,900 to replace it with the brand new battery. They made me pay for the labor of $675 and I got nothing in return. Still have to replace the battery or cell’s. If you can’t replace the cells you shouldn’t do the job! They also scratched up my leather seat, didn’t notice it in the dark when I picked it up.By mike shapley (3 months ago)Was initially optimistic given this shop touts their specialization in Japanese cars for our subaru when our normal mechanic was too backlogged over the holidays. Reception was extremely friendly and welcoming, was reasonably confident it was going to be a good experience. I also appreciated the digital record tool they used for diagnosing the vehicle, a nice touch which included videos and photos of key problem areas. Our vehicle had a bad control arm bushing causing steering issues. Rod’s quoted us a 4k minimum to address it, and recommended we do at least 6.5k of work to prevent premature wear, including replacing all struts front and rear, etc etc. Not having any experience with them prior to this, I felt it was worth getting a second quote before going forward, which is where it started to go south. When I communicated I’d like to do so, the vibe shifted, becoming audibly irritated at my decision. They quickly redirected to the vehicle being a safety concern on the road. Given the issue, there was some merit to this, despite having driven into to their shop that morning over 15 miles and planning to move it to another shop without highway driving about 3 miles away. They communicated they couldn’t hand over they keys to move it unless it was towed citing the concern which is annoying but fine, a reasonable request. I paid for the diagnostic and called back to confirm aaa would be coming later in the day. Upon booking aaa, aaa called the shop to confirm I had paid debts before dispatching, and coordinating for their driver. Rod’s told the aaa rep the keys would be under the driver side mat. When I arrived to meet the tow truck, no keys were to be found and the driver had to come back the next day. Again, very annoying but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that this was a simple miscommunication.Today after having the vehicle towed and assessed by my regular shop, they confirmed the bushing was indeed bad, but most of the other parts that had been listed in Rod’s quote were in good working order. The difference in quote was 2k (50%) less than the bare minimum Rod’s had quoted, and 4.5k (70%) less than they recommended.
I again gave them the benefit of the doubt despite what the math was telling me (perhaps they are just being overly conservative) until I came here and read all the other comments with very similar experiences to mine. I can’t speak to their quality of work as we had none performed and their diagnostic was detailed and exhaustive, but I would recommend a second opinion if you are at all questioning the scope of work being suggested to you.
By Joe Fontaine (3 months ago)We’ve been bringing our 2006 Subaru to Rod’s since we bought it 4 years ago and discovered that the dreaded head gasket needed repair, something that added thousands to the price paid. We live in Friday Harbor, but took our car to Rod’s on the advice of a local retired mechanic friend (who said no one on the island has the skills or equipment to deal with Subaru’s properly). And as tough as that unanticipated expensive repair was to swallow, the unbelievably thorough job of diagnosing and communicating what the car needed took the edge off and ensured we would return for the regular maintenance that we’re told guarantees the repair for the life of the car. So we have now been back for that regular maintenance and a couple repairs along the way for the last 4 years, and every time we are impressed by the quality of the work done, the communication, and the understanding and kindness of all the staff members. I’ve personally recommended Rod’s to multiple friends both on the island and in Bellingham. Best “car repair shop” experience we’ve had in the 50+ years we’ve been owning and driving cars!By Peg Hope (10 months ago)

Thank you for reading! If you have any additional information on the best Nissan Mechanic in Washington, please leave a comment below. We would love to hear from you!
I had a lot of expectations and high hopes going to find a car. I bought my car today and I love it. I had spoken to the sales person multiple times before I came in. Many dealerships are pushy and I hadn’t always felt comfortable especially being so young. I had the pleasure of working with Stefanie today and she was amazing! She was so friendly and sweet. She showed me card I was interested in and other cars that were on my price range. I’m so glad I chose to buy from here. Everyone is extremely welcoming, and friendly. Definitely a great environment, I loved this place and I definitely recommend this place for anyone choosing their first car or shopping for new or used cars. They have a lot of great options. Ask for Stephanie she was a joy to work with. I love my new car!
I’ve had a great experience on help for my first car. Stephanie helped from the call to make an appointment to finalizing the purchase! She was very enthusiastic from the get go and loved talking about more than just cars. Highly recommend coming here for a great experience
Shopping for cars is definitely not an experience I have ever enjoyed. Anxiety is high, thinking about talking to high pressured sales people who are going to try and get me to spend more than I want to. Today we went to Rairdon’s Nissan of Auburn to look at cars for our 16yr old. Not once did we feel pressured. I gave Kyle our price range. He stayed within it showing us the options. He gave us time to speak amongst ourselves. We felt very comfortable with him and feel we got a really good value with our purchase as well. Every encounter we had with staff their was pleasant. Jessica in finance was also great.
Thank you Kyle, Jessica and others who made our car shopping experience a good one!
Tanner,Dylan, Fernando and there boss were so helpful yesterday. As well as the finance guy Pete as well as the gentleman who cleaned my car before we left I seem to have forgotten his name I’m sorry any who. After verdant auto on auburn way we’re trying to sell me a lemon. I complained enough they just wanted to give me my money back instead of help find another car that wasn’t a lemon. Luckily my father in law was getting a replacement part on his Nissan down the road. He and his wife, my mother in law, had said well why don’t you just try here, so I went in. Everyone was busy, but Tanner the used car sales manager greated myself and my daughter, very kind and even said hi to Marissa. (My almost 1 year old). I explained to him what happened with verdant Auto, and he had said that was just not right. So he grabbed his long time co worker and friend Tanner, who was ready and willing to help us out in every way he could. Starting with a little down load on my story and immediately asked me if I wanted to go for a drive. He made me feel welcome and really actually seemed to care all my opinions and what kind of car I needed, and then showed me the options. 6 different within a close range of what he thought w we could afford based on what I had explained. It took some time but he was able to help our family of 5 out with a 2020 Dodge Journey. Great salesman and manager. Everyone seemed like that really wanted to help and make sure I understood what I was getting and if I something went wrong with the car I would have 7 days to return. Also when asked about car fax immediately it was presented to us. Where at verdant, they said oh we don’t do that. Also at verdant they didn’t even let me hisl the keys or go for a test drive throughout whole process. So weird and come to find out possibly illegal, thank goodness when had everyones help at Nissan. Best experience purchasing a car with my man.
Stephanie was the best! She was patient with my mother and talked my Mom through the whole process of purchasing a car. Very personable and friendly. Her smile was welcoming and warm. Felt like family!
