  1. I’ve lived in D.C for the past 20 years. One of my favorite cars needed some serious engine work and I was looking for a shop close by in the city. I was very lucky to find Georgetown Auto Service. They had my car restored to her former glory in no time. It’s been 10 years now and I have nothing but great things to say about them. The work is always second to none. Bobby (the owner) and his staff are extremely knowledgable, professional and accommodating. I can not recommend them highly enough!!

  2. Bobby is truly a gem and his team is excellent.

When I called the shop and mentioned having a possible car issue the day before leaving on a road trip, Bobby made time that afternoon to meet and quickly evaluate my car. We ended up finding a different issue that could have been dangerous on my trip, so I ended up getting a rental instead. The whole time I was away, Bobby kept me in the loop on what they were doing and what my options were.

You couldn’t ask for a better shop to care for you and your car. Thanks guys!

  3. The professionals at Georgetown Auto always go the extra mile to help their customers. Theyre honest, candid, reliable, and reasonable every visit. I’ve been going to them first for years, and highly recommend their services. High quality, affordable, and timely! Ask for Bobby and Roberto – they’re the best in town!

  4. Bobby is communicative, thorough, and honest. Their valet service to the airport was extremely convenient, and he explained the work needs/options to me well. I feel it was a fair service, good value, and great customer service.

  5. I recently took my car to Georgetown Auto Service because I was told I needed to replace my axle and brakes. From the moment I walked in the door, Bobby was friendly and professional. He not only took the time to explain what services my car needed and why, but he took me underneath my car and showed me what to look for. Additionally, he provided me with a detailed estimate of the cost, so there were absolutely no surprises!

The work on the car was done quickly and efficiently. I could only do half the work that was required during my first appointment and Bobby went above and beyond to ensure me that my car would be safe to drive. It was absolutely excellent service, all around. I would recommend Georgetown Auto Service to anyone in the DC area.

5 stars for friendliness, 0 for the drama it takes to get work done (and your car back). Brought my car in for brakes, tires, and oil change. First day I dropped it off and when I picked it up I got an estimate for the brakes and tires. You need a day to get the parts, fine. But no oil change. I come back for them to do the brakes and tires and they did them just fine, but no oil change. A manager said they’d get an oil change done for me for free, nice. I call to make an appt for the oil change and dropped my car off a few days later. They said it would be done by the evening and would call. A bit before closing and no call, so I called, and someone checked and said it was done. I told them great I’m coming over now. After a 30 min bus ride I get to the shop and it’s closed with no one there. The second time I picked up from them it was after hours too so I didn’t think anything of it. Multiple calls and knocks and nothing. I had to book a taxi to get to my work assignment the next day because we start earlier than the busses that could get me there in less than an hour. Crazy that it has to be this complicated.

Great auto repair shop if you live on the hill. Scheduled an oil change, dropped off morning of the appointment, picked up in the evening. Would recommend.

I was visiting DC from Richmond and my Honda had a coolant leak. Ben Nielsen’s (Chris) got me in that day, fixed my coolant leak, and got me back on the road quick. They understood I had an emergency issue, got me in, and are a very professional shop. Would recommend to anyone in the Capitol Hill area of DC. Chris is the man!

Mike and Chris both had excellent customer service. They gave specific updates on the status of when my vehicle would be worked on when I called. I went to get my oil changed and they let me know that my brake pads needed replacing, and they offered a fair price and the work was completed very efficiently.

A good place to get your car serviced. I have a Hyundai and they do pretty well. I’d say that the prices are higher than usual, but I think it’s a DC thing. They’re professional and quite quick despite the volume of cars they get daily.

They were not nice to me. I wanted to change my Chevy windshield wipers. It took me more than 20mn to get attention from the costumer experience guy. When I started explaining my car problems, he didn’t let me finish he asked me to grab a card and email him.

I never write reviews because honestly I’m lazy and have never cared enough, but the experience I had at Capitol Hill Auto was terrible and so I have to share because there are only a few auto shops in the area and I want to spare others my horrible experience.

I had an issue with my brakes making a grinding sound so I called the auto shop (the one I usually go to was closed for renovations). No one picked up. So I drove over to see if I could bring it in. The man at the front desk was the RUDEST customer services person I have ever met. He ignored me for almost 15 mins (the person in line behind me literally left because he was taking so long). When he finally deigned to talk to me he was terse, rude and not helpful. He acted like a paying customer was the biggest burden he’s ever had to deal with. He told me to leave the car and he’d get back to me.

He finally emailed me saying I would need to new calipers, brake pads and rotors for a total of almost $1300. I decided to get a second opinion. I called Baird Automotive and they quoted me a lower price and asked me to bring it in so they could check to see if I really needed all new parts – he said he was skeptical it was that extreme.

At Baird, Joey took a look and said the motor pads had rust that he could sand off for me and that I needed new rotors but that’s it. He charged me less than $500 for the whole thing. And did it all in a day PLUS he called me multiple times to keep my updated on the progress. The customer service was light years better that Capitol Hill Auto.

If you decide to go here please save your time, dignity and money and just go anywhere else.

Chris is super friendly and transparent with his work. He provides you with options and doesn’t try to scare you to get repairs done. Super fast and efficient communication through email.

Watch out to your personal belongings – because the car repair mechanics at this store have stolen money from my car.

I guess don’t send your cars over here if you don’t have to, or you’ll have to take everything in the car with you before you drop it off. The mechanics really are dishonest thieves. The store owner does honest work I guess, and it might be hard to manage all those mechanics
