  1. The most wonderful and well-thought-out place in Memphis. You must go when you are in town or if you live here. Fresh air, lots of trails, And a great meeting place for friends or a walk by yourself. Take your camera and your dog (at least most places)! And a great meeting place for friends or a walk by yourself. Great restaurants and a lovely gift shop that supports the park. 1st class and a must see.

  2. I visit a LOT of parks (producing events) and honestly this on has to be at the top of the list!! Take a long walk on one of there many trails and see for yourself! Beautiful views of the lake from every side. That’s not all there’s beautiful architecture, buildings, artwork, landscaping etc.

  3. A wonderful safe, clean park to visit. Spent about 4 hours there and will def have to go back. The visitor center has the map and info if you are new to going. Also, mostly clean restrooms. The same building has a cute giftshop as well. This building sets atop the land of Hyde Lake. Adjacent to it is Coastal Fish company, which we plan to return and visit. 1st we visited the dog park area, lots of fields and some small ponds/lakes for your dog to cool off in. Huge amount to just be able to run and play, as that area dogs can be off leash. Then we went to the Hyde park area, walked around Hyde Lake, sat on some waterside lounge chairs. They have scooter and bike rentals there (via an app). Also a boat rental, but it appeared close (think everything opens 4/23 on water rentals). Definitely plan to return to do the horseback riding, the miniature golf and ape adventure area, as well as check out some of the wooded trails. This park, if guessing, to experience everything would take a solid weekend, perhaps 2 weekends. Gorgeous views!

  4. Miles and miles of acreage to enjoy the great outdoors. I’ve been cycling and walking here and feel like I only scratched the surface of what is offered. Always something new to do when visiting! A great place to appreciate nature, be active, take the family out or even on a cute date!

  5. First time visiting this park and it was lovely. We didn’t get to see the bison roaming, but we didn’t have enough time to search for them either. Kids enjoyed the play area, the open trails here are very free roaming. Pet friendly. Zip lines located here as well. I wish we had parks like this back in FL.

What a beautiful park! We were staying at an Airbnb nearby and we had a few hours until we had to be to our next event, so I took my kids here to the playground by the pond. Beautiful! They played the entire time! The trails were muddy so we didn’t go far in, but the paved road through the trees was perfect for waking and running. I felt safe alone during the day the next morning when I came back to run. Would highly recommend this place to families. *I did not check to see if there were restrooms and if they were clean, I’d there were any. CON: parking is crazy there by the park. Just a tiny lot and it was PACKED on a Sunday afternoon.

I love to visit this park with my family and friends. It is located in the center of the city. It has many tables, trees, and grass areas for picnics. It has 2 trails for biking, skating or walking. I like to use the grass areas for mediation and yoga. This park is clean and has restroom facilities.

The Shell is a fantastic venue. Memphis is very lucky this place for music, fun and family. Bring a pick a nick basket or enjoy delicious food trucks! Saw Memphis’s own Yella P and Libby Rae Watson a couple of weeks ago. Great show. Last night we saw John Paul Keith and the Rhythm of the City. This is my favorite show of Keith’s I’ve ever seen!

Such a cool zoo! I didn’t realize they had a water park inside the zoo. I was a little upset about that and it cost 10 dollars on top for parking. Plus you also have to pay for the water park separately from everything else. Still a cool place!

Overton Park is the perfect outdoor sanctuary to meditate and relax during breaks or lunch. I love how the walking track wraps around the small lake, reflecting the fiery colors of Autumn leaves from the trees nearby. The park features a fantastic outdoor playground for the kids, and even our dogs have a designated space to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Exercise enthusiasts can utilize the woodland trail for walking, cycling, or jogging, and all of this enjoyment is right in the backyard of the Memphis Zoo.

We stayed overnight this weekend in Germantown to come here! We drove from about two hours away and the trip was so worth it. The dogs had the time (times, we went both Saturday and Sunday) of their lives and we’ll definitely be coming back. The park is bigger than we could have imagined, and there are so many different things to do, multiple ponds, shaded woods hiking trails, more open grassland hiking trails, and lots of wide open grassy fields with trees for shade. It was pretty hot and humid, especially on day 2, but we stuck near one of the ponds and they were able to cool off whenever they needed to. I highly recommend wearing sunscreen, as the sun is pretty unavoidable in some areas. I do have to add that I wouldn’t recommend this park if your dog doesn’t have a great recall.. if the recall skill was rated 1 to 5, you want your dog to be at least a 3. There are squirrels they might see and we came across a young deer, but I don’t know how often that happens within the dog park.

Love taking out dog here and letting run around and sniff all on her own. There is water for the dogs by the main entrance as well as place to rinse off your dog after playing in the water. There are 4 big ponds for dog to swim in and plenty of open space to throw a ball or have a picnic.

Beautiful park. Great for walking your dog in the off-leash area. When going on the trails be careful of wild animals. Always carry something to protect yourself and your furry friend!

This is a great park for letting your dog run in wide open space. It is not fully fenced so you have to keep an eye on them. Our dogs love jumping in the lakes and swimming and running around with other dogs.

Trail run with my 11 year old was magical. She’s puppy crazy. We did an fun 2-3 mile loop using the All Trails app. Ran through the woods, grass trails, over creek, around pond, and enjoyed dozens of dogs playing off the leash. It was a highlight of our visit to Memphis.
