  1. Great inner city space for a walk around the block, or just taking in some sunshine. With a children’s playground, bocce pits, chess tables, beautiful rows of trees, and benches, and lots and lots of grass.

  2. Dexter training ground
…or something like that 😂 I call it the Park…it getting green more and more every day…

Update… over the long holiday weekend… the park was full of activities

  3. I don’t know anything about the equipment and facilities, but I’m excited to find hiking trails, that go up proper hills and city views of the city, right here in Providence.

  4. Its a wonderful park, everytime i go its pretty clean. My kids love it, has a great park for the little ones and an area that is gated for the smaller kiddos. Has many benches to sit and watch your children. Also has a workout equipment outside great for the summer. Overall always happy to stop and let me lids play.

  5. DTG- This city park is usually very active, obviously even busier in the warmer summer months. As to be expected in a large urban there is some debris/ trash in the park but, nothing excessive and it doesnt impede anyone who visits this urban park & recreation area from enjoying their time spent here.
There is a large playground area with lots of different play equipment to accommodate children of all age groups. The play area is well- maintained by the Parks Dept., as is the rest of the DTG. During the warmer weather months I have observed the City Parks Dept. Crew maintaining the grounds regularly.
There is a good mix of sunny and well- shaded spaces, making it a nice spot for picnic or just a place to get a little tan and read a book.
There are little “chessboard tables” and 2 Boccee Ball courts.
There is adequate on-street parking on the three roads that border the park.
On weather-permitting Thursday afternoons in the summer months there is a farmers market.
Needless to say, DTG is a very popular park in City of Providence. It can be accessed and enjoyed by anyone regardless of physical ability, age or gender.
I give it 2 thumbs up!

Best dog park in Providence. Been taking my dog here since he was a puppy, almost 7 years ago! Huge area for dogs to play as well as having donated toys, balls, and chairs for the humans to sit on. Always well maintained by the community. My dog and I love Franciscan (Bell St) park!!! 🙂

Nice dog park lots a room for dogs to get their energy out . Not really fond of the people who bring their dogs leashed. 90% chance dogs will approach and will end up getting chippy. Please people. If you feel that your dog is NOT safe in the park because of the other dogs DONT BRING EM. If you do not want other dogs near your dog DONT BRING THEM. I have two highly energetic dogs. They love to play wrestle and play chase . Lately haven’t being able to sit and enjoy watching them because it doesn’t fail that one nervous owner get flustered and i have to go get my dog . Besides that nice park. also…. you bring your 5 lb dog that is a risk YOUR taking if it gets hurt trampled etc. Waterman park has a section just for small dogs .just saying.

The vibe is pretty great for the most part. Some parents do not keep a good eye on their pups and the sporadical fight might break out. Experienced pups would do better here new puppies I’d recommend Slater

Very social dog park no matter the time of day there are always tons of furry friends your 4 legged monsters can make. Tons of different breeds and very understanding owners. Great place to go

Great place for dogs to go and run around freely without needing a leash. Just wish they could make a section for small dogs that might not feel safe around such bigger dogs. Add that and this place would be amazing.

Great place to socialize for people and dogs. The only really discouraging factor is the people who go there with dogs that don’t like other dogs. WHY GO, and try to spoil everyone else’s day. Walk the Boulevard or just stay HOME! LOSERS BAT A HOME RUN WITH THIS PARK NOW! NO DOGS ALLOWED AT ALL IN THIS PARK. GREAT JOB TO THE MAYBE 10 PEOPLE WITH NO DOGS, NO PERSONALITY OR SOCIAL SKILLS. 1/3 of mile to be wasted so the miserable people can feel proud about just being Miserable! Today, I took my pup to the Waterman st. Dog park and to the Gano st. Dog park. Both are fenced in, Waterman has no grass and is full of rocks. TERRIBLE CONDITIONS! Gano st. Flat and full of grass. NICE! But…. Neither of the above have the space where a dog can get any real exercise. WANSKUCK PLEASE Advance to modern times and allow our dogs the rights they deserve! ADDED DEC 14 I no longer bring my dog there. Dog officer started showing up, threatening to take everyone’s dog. GREAT JOB Providence!

Really nice, spacious park. There’s huge open fields and a trail that goes through the woods. It’s sort of an underground dog park, so be prepared for dogs on and off leash. Owners are friendly and responsible, though, and the size of the park makes it easy to find your own space.

A nice fenced in park for dogs of all sizes! My dog loved the “hike” through the trees to get to the open play area where she ran around and played with other dogs. Seems like it’s taken care of pretty well. The only thing that annoyed me was that the entrance was very muddy and it didn’t even rain that day…overall it’s worth checking out.
