I must say the water was a lot calmer than some of the beaches I have been to on the coast today. Definitely a great location, nice sandy beach. There is some rocky formation along a short area of shoreline that I’m sure would provide some good snorkeling. The parking lot was directly off A1A and it had enough room to park my van and unload with 2 kids safely while still having plenty of room for the other incoming/outgoing vehicles to drive by. The restrooms were easily accessible however I did not need to use them so I am unsure of the conditions inside them. The stairs we used had a ramp up but did not have a ramp down so we couldn’t use a wagon or wheelchair to get onto the beach however there was more than one point of access so there may have been one on one of the other ones. The beach was beautiful and not crowded at all. We did go on a Wednesday though so the weekend may be different crowd wise. We took our dog with us and this was his first trip to a beach and he loved it!! I highly recommend this location for families with kids and pets!! The parking lot is all concrete and the rest room facilities are modern and in the middle of the lot. We were the only people as far as the eye could see. There was a parking lot with a large restroom area. Other reviews said it was handicap accessible, which it may have been pre-hurricane. Now there are some fairly steep steps leading down to the beach. It was very quiet without any traffic noise. High tide so we didn’t find any shells. TOP NOTCH PLAYGROUND!!! This is the BEST playground that I have ever been to, hands down!!! There isn’t a thing they didn’t think about when they built this park, it has absolutely everything you want and need. There is plenty of shaded areas, picnic tables that are covered, restrooms, splash pad (although it was under construction while we were there), playgrounds galore (different themed areas), basketball courts, the park/playground is gated all around with child safety latches!!! I was seriously in shock at how stunning this place was. We lived in Dallas, TX before moving to Florida and I’ve never seen one quite like this place. This is a must for everyone to see, especially if you have kiddos!!
As a born and raised Floridian, I’ve been to many public playground in numerous cities small and large. This park gets 5 Stars, and rates as one of the best, if not the best, in the state. Awesome park with plenty to do and room to roam. It’s unfortunate that the splash pad was not working on our first visit here. However, this park just became our #1 go to park when coming through the area! 👏👏👏 (hopefully the splash pad will be up and running on our next visit)
One of the nicest parks I’ve ever been to. I didn’t see anything that wasn’t top quality. The kids loved it. This will be a go to every time they visit.
Am absolutely great gem of a park. It is a great family park to take your kids to visit. It is good for kids ages 3-11. The children will love the amenities and activities. Parents will also have fun sitting on the swings and watching their kids. When we went the water park was closed but I am sure when it is open it will be amazing! And it is huge, about half the park, so it I was a bit sad to have it closed. For those who go to this park make sure to check it out when the water park is open as well.
