  1. I love visiting Estabrook and I go here often. Generally I am on the hiking trail as I Iove traveling along the river to get to where I am going. Its a great shortcut to get to Silver Spring Drive or even farther north – of course I don’t mind hiking many miles so I may not be the average person who tends to drive everywhere. I love that the hiking trail in this park is rather challenging…that it has lots of ups and downs so my legs get a good workout. Its way more interesting than a flat level course.

The park is a great place to see birds and wildlife. In fact just the other day I saw the first chipmunk this season! The little buggers are nearly impossible to photograph. I love seeing all the nature the park has to offer, from flowers to the waterfall and tons of trees & plants. Its all very beautiful. And very peaceful. Lots of neat little places to go be by yourself.

This park is large and has a lot to offer including soccer fields, baseball, disc golf, a dog play area, a place for skateboarding and a beer garden. Lots of green grassy fields to do whatever you want including playing various games or suntanning or having a picnic. Certain areas, usually around the beer garden, can be crowded but other areas will be more empty. And the park has two different areas of playgrounds for kids too.

The oak leaf trail goes past the park too.

I have many food sensitivities so I have never visited the beer garden to purchase anything but they do have many nice seating areas. Truthfully I really have no idea what they sell.

I have had fun countless times at this park over the past several years, from taking nature photos or selfies to tossing a frisbee around to hiking on the trails or just relaxing by the river.

Lots of people also go fishing here so its not unusual to see people standing in the river.

There are also many benches for one to sit and rest. Some are tucked away in hidden corners or are along the hiking trails.

The hiking trails do continue south to Hubbard park if you pass under the bridge at Capital and they also continue north if you pass under the bridges at the north end of the park at Hampton – the trail leads into Lincoln Park. Do take care as often bikes are on the hiking trail and at certain times of year it can be muddy & slick too! This can be tricky if the trail is going down a hill! Your feet can slide.

  2. Love this park. Along the Milwaukee River. It’s was run down when I was a kid. They have transformed this area over the years to a lovely watershed.

  3. The river trail is so beautiful and rustic, not difficult, but not easy. A great exercise that doesn’t feel like one because of the continually changing landscape and beautiful scenery. There’s also a paved walkway for those who want a easier route.

There is also a skateboarding area, a dog park, picnic tables throughout… everything you need in a park! Oh, and how can I not mention the Biergarten. Great spot with lots of open space.

And it’s really well maintained. I see volunteers out all the time, painting, picking up things, surveying. Thank you Estabrook!

  4. Very peaceful… Gorgeous… Just like I remembered it as a little girl fishing with my mom, dad and brother.

  5. One of the nicest parks in Milwaukee. Lots to do including disc golf, biking and hiking trails, playground, skate park, and best of all a bier garten!

Large wooded and grass area. Needs more garbage bins. Only one at the gait. Nice benches throughout the park. For the most part picked up. Some areas had quit a bit of dog poop not picked up. Friendly dogs and owners!! Did not see any restrooms.

Best dog park around… rolling hills and the woods have trails in them, all fenced in and well taken care of… highly highly recommend

Perfect for the little dogs. My friend’s dog even found a friend that refused to leave him alone. 🤣 i know my Gemma was relieved she was left alone. 🤣 but the park is spacious for running but not too big to get lost. Clean.

Excellent, completely fenced in dog park! Forest and field, so plenty of variety and a nice little walk if you want to just walk laps. Been coming here for years and my dogs still aren’t bored of it. Well-maintained (even though it’s annoying it’s closed for a bit each spring to let the turf rest, it’s def worth it). Dog park reserved for small dogs is separated and just a short walk away. Heads up that there is a kinda steep hill and it can get icy/slippery with mud. Bring shoes with good grip during cold/sloppy season!

I really enjoy this dog park and so do my puppies! You need to have the annual tag to enter and sometimes there is staff checking so be aware of that. The people are friendly and I love the little patches of trees with mini trails (pictured).

Beautiful place to let your dog run free. Great place to meet dogs and people. Everyone shares the same interest to share the experience of loving your puppies. Bring water and a towel if it wet. Let your puppy be a puppy. All the dogs enjoy the company of other dogs. Highly recommended

Grahams absolute favorite place! He loves running around with the other dogs and we love that he can explore the woods! Everyone is so friendly and gives us new puppy owners good advice.

Best off leash dog park I’ve been to. All fenced in & plenty of wooded areas for doggos to explore.

This is absolutely the best dog park I’ve ever taken the pup to. If needed, it has separate very open areas for large and small dogs. It also has beautiful wooded trails to explore, plenty of areas you can sit down and rest and your 4 legged buddy can get fresh water, and even readily available bags to pick up your doggy’s poop (if you forget to bring your own).

Super small, and it’s just a revenue generator. They require you to pay to go take your dog to a park. Hugely disappointing!
