- Reviews:Nice dog park that is separated into two areas. One is for bigger dogs and one is for smaller dogs. Tons of room for them to run in both sections. Took our two here on a nice day in February and the ground was super muddy but our girls had a blast. My only complaint was that the two hoses didn’t have running water. I hope it was just because of the time of the year but it definitely needs to be turned on so we can wash our dogs off. There is also a big community water bowl with jugs to refill it if runs out.By Twix03 (3 years ago)Huge area to play usually 5or so dogs there to play with . Can be a bit muddy . No wind breaks so dress warmBy Joe Ogrodnik (3 months ago)Went for the first time for the drive by truck or treat, spacious fields and quite a few baseball fields! The park was clean and I look forward to taking my kids there.By Kelli Smith (2 years ago)Had my daughters first birthday party here, beautiful view and very private. Walking is afar from cars and we had to have a lot of the elderly family park in the maintenance driveway but other than that totally worth it!By Macayla Clark (4 years ago)Beautiful park all year round durining the window be careful of ice other than that amazing place.By Weaponized Bullshit (5 months ago)
Portage Lakes Dog Park

- Reviews:Smaller than I thought. Had water but if you think your dog might sneak away there are lots of areas where a small dog could easily escape near the end of the gate near the water line. Kinda dirty, but it’s shady so grass wouldn’t grow if you tried. Caliente had fun though. And that’s what mattersBy Melinda Coffman (9 months ago)Picturesque little dog park nestled among the trees at Portage Lakes State Park. With ample grass, dirt and space for your pup to roam, it was doubly doggie friendly with the addition of an opening onto the lake for the complete canine swimming experience. Plenty of parking, a nearby BBQ and a reasonable amount of privacy offer a wonderful treat for your furry companions. Only downside I saw was no public restroom located nearby.By Gennifer Peele (9 months ago)We had a fun time at our first visit to this park. The park is a little small, and I didn’t see a separate area for small dogs(if you have one). The only real downside is your dog can easily get out of the fenced-in area by going into the water and around the fence. Our puppy did exactly this, but thankfully came back quickly. This park is best for dogs with good recall skills. The other dog owners at the park were very friendly, and overall was a good trip.By Elizabeth Fitzpatrick (2 years ago)My dog loves the park. It is open on the water side though so I would not recommend if your dog can swim, they can get out!By Ashley Martinez (6 years ago)It’s a nice dog park with a modest beach area for the dogs. There are some benches for people to sit and a nice dock. Only downfall for humans is the fact that there isn’t a toilet very close.By Courtney Seevers (11 months ago)

Love this place! An awesome time with dogs & nice experience conversing with other dog owners! Everyone was polite, kind, & respectful to one another!
I wish it were this way no matter where we go! This doggie play ground is a brilliant idea, that really works quite well! I felt a sense of community here that I’ve not experienced any where else honestly. A pleasant breath of fresh air for my pup & myself as well! I wish my own community had one of these parks to take our dogs to!
Fenced in park where dogs can play off leash. There are separate sections for large and small dogs. Never had a problem with dogs there, but people can be an issue. Understand that dogs are going to bark, try to assert dominance, and may want to play in a way that gets your little princess dirty.
I haven’t been here for a few years. The area has been divided into two; one for small dogs and the other for large dogs. They looked to be quite clean, and there were bags for waste pick up. I was the only one in the small-dog section, and there was only one dog in the larger section. I hope next time there will be doggies for my puppy to play with!
People complaining about dogs off leash are Karen’s. It’s literally a dog park with an open field behind it perfect for one on one or some Frisbee. THE HUMAN towpath is literally a parking lot over. This is the only spot in the area that is acceptable for off leash dog training. If you don’t like it, go elsewhere. If only we had a national park nearby…… 🥴
This park is an awesome place for your dog if you feel like they’ve been inside too much and just don’t have a good yard to run around in. All the other people that bring their dogs here are usually super friendly, as well as their dogs.
I will say though that some things need repaired there, such as one of the benches along the side of the fence. It seems to be pretty damaged and I could see a dog getting stabbed while playing (or even just a person if they aren’t careful). Once that sort of stuff is fixed I would bring this back up to a 5/5 for sure
