  1. It was beautiful! I wish I came during the better months so that it wouldn’t be an obstacle course. But it was fun and pretty quick if a walk if you take the blue tail. Be warned if you do take the blue trail, at one point it says with the red tail. There are no signs, but make sure you don’t go right. You’ll know what I mean.

  2. Went here to fish with my son in the evening before the sun went down. Bugs were bad near the pond but that’s understandable. Sheriff drove through and waved to my son. All in all a beautiful place to take a walk.

  3. The dog park was the place to be today! Lots of dogs lots of friendly people and beautiful weather.
Contact Monroe County Parks department to register your dog!
it’s only $24 for a whole year and there are four or five different parts you can go to in Monroe County, you just need their license and rabies certificates and you’re all set!
    Parks department, Google it!🙂

  4. The facility was nice, clean, and pretty modern! Bathrooms were nice, though the hand dryer seemed under powered slightly. Kitchen was also very nice with lots of counter space. It did seem one of the drawers in the fridge did not want to stay closed by itself, but overall it was very nice. I especially liked the deck and the view!

  5. Been here a few times now, and it’s nice. One of the best in the area for anybody interested in barefoot walking. Not too many downsides, some of the trail maintenance is a bit lacking and there’s only one trail map I found. Hasn’t been very crowded any of the times I’ve been there. Also great for families, tons of room for picnics and the like and there’s a couple of playgrounds. Bonus for connecting to the canal walkway!

Plenty of options here, a very large area with a pond (closed in the winter). Also, the option to enter either a large or small dog specific section.

Beautiful park. Lots of history. Great trails for walking your dog, hiking, or bicycling. They have a playground for younger kids. Trails are clearly marked. There is picnic areas & restrooms available.

Update. Now that my dog is bigger and more mature, and able to hold his own, we tried again and have started going more often. I only go on slower days and times as I like to ensure I can monitor the action. I would always advise using caution, especially with smaller and younger dogs, but so far I haven’t had any more major red flag issues. Things I liked – BIG open space with room to run – benches, fallen logs, bridges, lots to do – a big pond in the center, fenced off in winter for safety – very scenic Things I didn’t like – it was our first visit, and I saw a couple of owners being VERY rough with their dogs, as in grabbing them and screaming in their faces. This made me super uncomfortable. – there was at least one dog who should not have been there, they were clearly upset and taking it out on other dogs. – I got told off by some person for having a long line dragging on my puppy (because we are still working on recall and he is 9 months old) and told it wasn’t allowed… I checked the rules later and it doesn’t say anything about leashes and lines not being allowed. Drag lines are a super common training method so I’m confused as to their issue with me. – A decent number of owners were not monitoring their dogs, just hanging out. It felt like there were maybe 2 or 3 other dog people, and a dozen people who just use the park to let their dog go haywire. My adolescent isn’t perfect but I’m monitoring and intervening as needed, not on my cellphone. I may try again when he is older but I’m uncertain if we will use this park. I may try to go at a weirder time when there may he fewer dogs and people as I’d love to practice his recall.

I was very impressed with how the dog park is set up. People were respectful of the rules and other dog owners.

Great park. Three areas: one gravel section for dogs under 25 pounds, another gravel section for all dogs, and a gorgeous park area with benches, a walking path very popular with the human folk, and a pond.

Very interesting dog park just off the I90 south of Rochester. Benches, water features, even a dog obstacle course. Well fenced- first time I saw maglocks on a dog park gate. Extremely well maintained, just a little muddy this time of year. Really friendly dog owners.

*note: this is not an open park, you need to buy a pass* So much fun for dogs and humans alike!!! Great space to run around, with trees and a creek (for the big dogs), poop bags are readily available, there is a bathroom for the humans, and a hose to wash your dog off. The creek is great, but it can also be very, VERY muddy.

You need to pay to join (town hall), they give you a pass and a dog tag. Always maintained, poop bag/ trash can posts, full fence with locking door, lots of room to run. Big dog/ small dog seperate sections, devided by a fence. Fuzzy mans’ favorite run around spot.

My dog loved this park! I like the fact is has trees, tall bushes and a mini creek to run through. It’s not huge but big enough for my dog to feel like she had more to explore and run through. It also has a water fountain inside for the dogs and a hose outside to spray them off. Fun little park!

This is the happiest place for dogs of Rochester. There are always balls to play with, everyone is friendly and courteous, lots of space to roam around, even a pond for the larger breed area.
