- Reviews:This place is the MOST AMAZING place I have ever been. What a BRILLIANT place to make for pet lovers. Super friendly, Fun, so many kind of dogs playing and living their best life. Go in, have a 🍺 or 🍹 while hanging out with you pup and they get play and run in safe, clean social environment. We took my Grand pup here and we didn’t want to leave….. Lol I want to Live here. I can’t wait to go back and bring our new puppy. I wish I lived closer. You need to make one in Minnesota!!! We would go crazy for something like this. Especially in the winter. Thank you for a precious experience. You are all the BEST!!!By Heidi Tenold (3 months ago)Love it. I love everything about this place. It was really nice that they had several staff members who watched out for the safety of the dogs. There was probably about 100 dogs there when I went. It was amazing how well all of the dogs got along and played together. The menu is very simple (I wish the menu had a few more choices) and quite a few different drink options. The indoor restaurant does not allow dogs inside, but there is an outdoor patio where you can leash your dog and have them with you. There’s an outdoor bar, so if you don’t want to go inside to get a drink you don’t have to. I really wish this business had come to Des Moines years ago.By Hamilton Andrea (3 weeks ago)I am a frequent patron of this amazing facility and bring my dogs on a weekly basis. The staff at this establishment has always been kind and professional, from the front desk to the dog watchers in the park to the bartenders and servers. I have also utilized the grooming services / daycare services and have been extremely satisfied with the results. The cheese curds at this establishment are a must-try. In the future, I plan on bringing my dogs in the morning to play in the turf area dog park while I work remotely from the outside restaurant seating area with a fresh brewed coffee and bagel. Overall, this is my family’s favorite place to visit in Des Moines by far.By Korey Payne (4 months ago)Paws and Pints was a fun experience for my golden retriever, Huck, and I. Huck had a great time playing and got along with the dogs there, it’s about $10 to get in which isn’t bad pricing, I think it will be more “worth it” once the back lot with walking path is open for use. We visited the bar/kitchen as well. The food was good and it could have been hotter, it was kind of cold when received. I think it was a little overpriced for a bar/grill type restaurant, the prices could be $2-3 cheaper in my opinion thinking about similar restaurants in the area. I liked the employees monitoring the dog park and saw many times where the intervened when dogs were getting overwhelmed. The employees were also great at cleaning and washing the area regularly. One thing I noticed was that my dogs temperament was not checked like listed on the website, I’m not sure if this is supposed to be a formal process but if not that could be reworded on the website for clarification. All in all it was a fun place to visit, I think as a new business it is still working out the kinks as time goes on. It is a little pricey for a young professional on a budget but I look forward to visiting again with Huck and some of our friends.By Holli Hochberger (7 months ago)We celebrated a good friend‘s 21st birthday last night and had the best time ever! Cannot recommend enough! They had a room reserved for us along with our own server and the room had a mini indoor and outdoor dog park with a large garage door! Turfed area was great and the seating worked well for 20 people. Perfect for all of our friends to celebrate with all of our pups.By Elizabeth Hayes (7 months ago)

- Reviews:Permit dog park, Not for travelers. That being said, this is one of the best and well maintained dog park in Des Moines area. I take my dog there every day. It has wide open grass area and plenty of trees for shade. There are benches spread across for seating and water bowl is available. You have to bring your own water. Potty bags are available across the park. This doesn’t have partition for small/big dogs. Its 3 acre open space with lot of activity stuff and open space. For travelers, suggest visiting Windsor Heights dog park which doesn’t require a permit.By Bhushan J Gowda (9 months ago)The Riverwalk Dog Park is one of the best dog parks to take your dog to that is part of the city pass system. It definitely is worth the $20. I take my dog to this park regularly and she loves it. It is not separated like the other parks and so little dogs and big dogs play together, but there is usually a good group of both. There is also an obstacle course and long grass and short grass area. Definitely worth it!By Kollan Kolthoff (4 years ago)Great dog park. I’ve been taking my dogs here for years. I really appreciate that the park requires proof that your dog is up to date on vaccinations. People complain that they cannot access the park when traveling with their dogs. I have been across the country with my dog and every park I visited had a $5 fee for the day, or it was private. There is a park at Raccoon River in West Des Moines that has this same system last I checked. You can also take your dog for an on leash walk at any of the public parks in the city. It’s also not unusual for people to let others into the park if they ask nicely, but please make sure your dog is well behaved and up to date on all of it’s shots. $20 for the year to help maintain the park AND have piece of mind that irresponsible people cannot access the park is more than worth it.By Bryce Taha (a year ago)Unfortunately weren’t able to bring our dogs inside because it requires a permit but is closest to all of the hotels downtown, meaning if you’re passing through and your dog needs a break from the car, too bad. You’ll have to find a different park. We would gladly pay for a day pass or something, but that isn’t an option.By Shannon Cusick (11 months ago)What a lovely dog park. Gets a little muddy in the rain and it’s a little noisy next to the highway, but it’s so close to downtown it outweighs the negatives. My dog loves it.By Ozjef Berb (3 years ago)

Empty when we went except for some matted fur. Also, no water available for the dogs and with very little tree cover I thought that was a huge downside. It’s a pretty long walk from the parking lot to carry a gallon of water and a bowl! But I guess that’s what you get at a free park.
Great spot to let your dogs stretch their legs on a road trip! Totally fenced in and the entrance is secured with two gates. Someone had left bowls and a gallon of water to share and the whole park was very clean.
For a free dog park, my dogs enjoy socializing with dogs and humans. When they can run wildly and come home tired, then my objective has been accomplished. The area has good seating and plenty of shade.
Friendly owners, never too crowded. Area code large and small dogs. Along a nice trail.
Was a little hard to find on google maps but we realized its behind the park. Nice walk up and the creek that runs by is pretty. A little graffiti under the bridge is to be expected. The park was nice and had water dishes and some agility spots.
