  My Avenger got hit by a 90 year man with No insurance, Pac Towing took us over to Auto Masters and Joe is the most efficient, fast and friendly mechanic I’ve ever dealt with in my life!! My Avenger arrived at 5:15pm and he stayed late, ordered the part from Sac, arrived at 6:30am, and was finished by 9:50am the very next morning!! I drove over 180 miles two ways to get my car finished by this amazing mechanic!!! I found my new mechanic???

  Just got my 91 Trooper back from Auto Masters in Eureka after some pretty extensive work and I couldn’t be happier with the service. Timing belt, water pump, clutch, flywheel, and distributor, and she’s running like a champ again. This was my 2nd major work since I moved to Hum Co (and I’m still questioning my decision to go to the first place for service in Arcata) so I called several places around town which I hadn’t done last time. Joe and his crew took great care of my sweet rig and had the best prices in town so I’ll bring it back when the need arises. Thank you!

  Highly recommend this place. Honest, up front, communicative. They listened to my issues, addressed the problems, double checked before doing any work, did not over charge or make things up, fixed the issues at hand. (Accidentally caused a bit of cosmetic damage to a plastic piece, and they told me about it and then replaced it. I probably wouldn’t have noticed it right away, and I really value that level of integrity.)

  My husband dropped his vehicle off to this shop only to get it back with broken trim pieces that they tried to “fix” so that my husband would not notice. The one pillar trim piece was not locked in all the way. There are scratches like someone used a flat head to pry them off. Dirty finger prints everywhere. He was quoted a price before dropping off and upon pick up was notified that the bill was double what they quoted him. They did not tell him that over the phone, they waited until he showed up to pick up my vehicle. Stay away!

  Came to Neil’s to get a remote starter installed in my car. During installation, Neil found that my emergency brake line was damaged and replaced it for me. I am very satisfied with the work he has done and recommend him for your electronic needs

  Just had my stereo and sub put in and it sounds Amazing! Neil is very professional and relatively inexpensive compared to some of the other shops around here. He’s a really nice guy and he even dropped me off at my house when I dropped my car off. I will definitely be coming back here in the future for all my car stereo needs.

  Short Version: Neil is an awesome person, has great customer service, and his work is wonderful.

  Long Version: I had issues with a alarm system and speaker system on a vehicle I had bought recently. I called Neil and explained the situation, he explained to me how his pricing works and invited me to make an appointment. Neil worked on my vehicle giving me a step by step explanation of what he needed to do and asked for permission before increasing the price. He did more than I asked for (in a good way). I would say the number one attribute that will keep me going to Neil’s Specialty Sound is that he was genuine.

  Neil has put in two systems in my vehicles and I couldn’t be happier with them & him! Great guy just doing something he enjoys. He puts a lot of time into making his customers super satisfied! The current system I have now is AMAZING! Iv been told riding in my car sounds like a concert. && if your driving back roads all day long he bolts the whole system in with super solid bolts and screws so there’s no way to rattle your system loose, cuz I did that in my first vehicle. All around hooks you up to your needs and wants! Show some love and get a dope system in your vehicle/boat/ side by side, whatever it is.. he can and will do it better than most! ? No doubt lives by his business name, Neil’s “SPECIALTY” sound! Not to mention, I usually let him pick most of my system out because he gets to know his customers and the type of music they listen too! Not every system is for every type of music. Great to do business with!

  They replaced a recalled switch in my Subaru, as a walk-in, and had me in and out in under fifteen to twenty minutes!
  They were also quite happy to answer a myriad of questions I had accumulated about my car and provide insight and direction.
  I do strongly recommend if you are going to have paid work done you research the prices of parts online, via O’Reilly or Napa, before committing to have this organization do work or you could pay 2-4X too much.
